I am finally taking oil painting this semester!
I'm in a wee class of 5, and our first assignment has been to copy a Michelangelo or da Vinci.
I've been working on this little painting, Lady with an Ermine, by Leonardo da Vinci, for 3 two-and-a-half hour class periods now. I've been easing into it.
Believe it or not, I'm still working on the underpainting.
Her expression isn't right yet, but I have a tendency to work intensely in areas for long periods of time, and then hopping around, neglecting others, and this alters the likeness.
It won't be until the very end that I will see what she truly looks like.
