What do you like to munch?

What's your favorite recipe?
I need your help!
This requires a special font and illustration.
I am working on a collaborative project and
need your most especially favorite recipe.
I hate flipping through cookbooks hunting down a recipe I've never tried.  I'd much rather use your tried-and-true favorites.
Please send me your favorite recipe!

Stamp Time

I have been up to my eyeballs in marketing materials these past two nights.
If I want to sell my work and have people actually remember who made it, I need to have some sort of information attached!
So here is my design for my stamp.
I like the wobbly letters.

How You Love

An undefended strength is a double weakness
I’ve got a week of class to go and then a week of finals...and as I look back on this semester...I am humbled.  I see so many failures.  I see so many miracles and countless ebbs of grace that I most certainly did not deserve.  I see the word LOVE painted across these months...making my heart heavy.
A quality that always seemed to bubble over, a well never drying...the commandment with which I never struggled--I look back and see so much broken, misused and misapplied love.  I see selfishness...I see sloth.
God is digging deeper, peeling back my pride-gilded good deeds and “love” and revealing their tainted roots.  I am broken again and again, and do not seek him, then fall to his feet and beg for forgiveness and then like an unfaithful lover...fling myself back into the night.
I write this joyfully.  For I see God moving in my life...in the midst of these shards, and shattered bits...things have grown.  I have truly struggled this semester.  I’ve hurt people--something I’ve never wanted--but have done.  I’ve blindly bumped, battered and bruised those around me...how many have I unintentionally crumpled and torn? What wasteful words have spilt and stained?  I always prided myself in being positive, in filling others up, in building and adding to them, in bestowing encouragement and sprinkling sunshine and rainbows.
“I AM LILY. I AM THE QUEEN. AND I LIKE EVERYTHING!”
I still do.  But my undefended strength became a double weakness.  Bravery can breed stupidity, tact warps into untruthfulness.  My great love was twisted and used to hurt those around me.  Cam has been reading The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis and he told me of a concept illustrated that I believe in whole heartedly: that of virtues turning into vices, and vices that can be redeemed into virtues.
John 13:34-35
34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Nested Ornaments

I spent the second half of my Saturday listening to Christmas music and decorating the small tree to our front room.
After Mom snagged it on sale a few Christmases ago, it has become my responsibility to decorate that tree.
While I artistically arranged the different ornaments I'd selected for a photoshoot, Cam systematically tweaked and replaced each light on every strand.
It was a lovely evening spent close to family, warm and cozy--we have so few nights in which we're all together for a meal.

Bumble Bee Business Cards

I have finally picked a design that I feel truly reflects my work.
Check it out and let me know what you think!

Banner Bliss

After Feast of Roses, we all shed our fancy dress and got on our hands and knees to knock out our Greek Week Banner.  The week's theme was "As Seen On TV."
Spoiler alert: we won first place!
But even if we hadn't, it would have been worth it for the rare and precious time we all had together working on the banner.
It didn't end up being me or our other artist, Shiloh, doing it on our own.
I drew everything out, and then everybody helped paint.
It was such a blessing to see people who weren't comfortable with the medium proudly pointing at the banner and squealing:
"I painted those letters!" or "I did the frog!"
It was the new members' first night as officially initiated members of Alpha Gamm, and it was an evening well spent.

Feast of Roses with Alpha Gamm

Again, Luna's was incredibly kind to us and helped us put together a gorgeous event.
Feast of Roses is an annual dinner in which we celebrate our new initiates and meet their families.
Special thanks to my fabulous social team comprised of my sisters Katelyn and Stacie, without whom the night would have been impossible, and especially to Angela and Lee Lee for rescuing us.
Luna's even surprised us with red and buff rose garnishes!

Notebooks for Sale in the Shop

I only have a few notebooks left, so if you want to snatch them up before things get crazy, they are in the shop!
After these last few go, I will be cranking out another batch the second week of December, so that you can order them in time for the holidays.
Send me your requests before the holiday rush, I can't guarantee you a notebook once things get crazy, especially if you want anything personalized.
Check out The Pea and Me's facebook page to vote on what shapes and papers you want me to use this time!

Metro Kidz

"We believe it is better to build boys and girls than repair men and women."
"Atlanta Metro Kidz is committed to making a positive and permanent impact in the lives of Atlanta’s at-risk children with programs and events designed to promote a child’s spiritual, academic, and emotional well-being. Our non-profit also channels help to those in need through counseling, academic assistance, distribution of food items, household products, and furniture. Metro Kidz comes alongside children and their families to empower them to rise above difficult circumstances and societal expectations. We continue to pour out the love of Jesus Christ to break barriers, and tear down walls in the lives and hearts of Atlanta's inner city children."
It was a beautiful Saturday morning, and although I was low on sleep and dizzy, God met us there.
Some of these photos were taken by Amber, some by me...and some by the kids!
We all took turns with her camera and I kept a tight hold on the strap whenever the little guys played photo shoot.
Misti goes to the Atlanta Dream Center every week, and is a site pastor for several inner city neighborhoods in Atlanta.
So Amber and I tagged along with her Saturday morning.
Little Evan was begging to be chased, and I didn't feel well at all.
So I prayed "God, give me strength!" and took off after him!
Not only did I not pass out, but I felt fine for the rest of our time there.

They were all very keen on making our hair "pretty."
Pretty painful, they yanked very hard!

What I believe in

I believe that God can resurrect the most damaged situations, relationships and people.
I believe that no one is beyond forgiveness.
I believe that I cannot do a thing on my own, but can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
I believe that I was made for a purpose, and that his will and purpose for me should be what my life's strivings are for.
I believe that I don't have to continue living a reactive life, but a proactive one in which I lean into His plans for me.
I believe that I can be a wounded healer.
I believe in a God that can STILL work miracles in this place, in my life, and in the lives of those around me in my everyday, boring situations.
I believe in HIM.
