Self-Portrait

I worked on this all day today.  I had my watercolor instuctor's advice in mind: "You have to accept the ugly stages.  Step back and leave it alone for a while."  

I painted through many ugly stages and teetered as to how far I could push this peace.  

But after a cooking break that brought renewed clarity, I sprinkled in some dots, added more ink and threw in a pom pom string for good measure.
